Friday November 21, 2008 at 1807 hours, Chief 6B (Montgomery), Sergeant 6 (Morris), Engine 61 (Nasti), Squad 6 (Lt Thrasher), and Tanker 6 (Capt Collins) were alerted to 7515 Solomons Island Road, along with surrounding mutual aid units. The Huntingtown Volunteers arrived to find a two story wood-frame house with a pile of brush in the rear that had gotten out of control, and spread to the rear of the house. Engine 61's crew immediately went to work stopping the spread of fire and wetting down the exterior of the house. Squad 6 arrived, split into crews; one crew working inside on checking for extension and horizontal ventilation while the second crew began opening up the exterior walls and soffit. Tanker 6 supplied Engine 61. The box was held to Huntingtown VFD only and units returned to service at 1852 hours.
