| Wednesday August 6, 2008, at 1447 hours, Chief 6C (Hayes), Captain 6 (Collins), Engine 61 (Miller), and Tanker 6 (Buckler), were returning from drilling in an acquired structure on Pushaw Station Road. This was only two hours after clearing the house fire on 7th Street. At the same time, Captain 6 (McKenny), arrived at 3252 Solomons Island and advised Communications of an auto on fire attached to a tow-truck. With Engine 61 and Tanker 6 several miles away, and Engine 62 out of service, the Huntingtown Volunteers quickly responded with what they could including Brush 6 (Smith), Jeep 6 (Grierson, R), and Chief 6 (Riffe). Brush 6 & Jeep 6 arrived, and began extinguishing several spot fires that had occured as a result. Once accomplished, the two booster lines were focused on the vehicle as well as the woods surrounding. Engine 61 & Tanker 6 arrived minutes later, and extinguished the remainder. Huntingtown units cleared at 1548 hours. |
