Monday August 4, 2008, at 2136 hours, the Huntingtown VFD was alerted for the Investigation in the area of Route 4 and Cherry Hill Road. Upon arrival, a large pile of "everything" (pallets, plywood, sinks, trees, stumps, trash, etc) was found to be burning. This brought Chief 6 (Riffe), Chief 6B (Montgomery), Engine 61 (Capt Mckenny), Brush 6 (Morgan), and Jeep 6 (Capt Collins). In addition, Engine 51 & Tanker 5, from the Dunkirk VFD were requested. Units quickly placed 2 pre-connected attack lines in service, as well as one booster line. Due to this apparently resulting from a large domestic assault, the Sheriff's Department was requested. In addition, the National Resources Police, the Health Department, and DNR were brought to the scene. During the incident, Tanker 42 (Deale VFD), transferring to Huntingtown VFD, was also brought to the scene. Units operated until 2320 hours.
