The first two line of duty deaths occured in The Bronx. A covering Lieutenant and Firefighter from Ladder Company 27 were killed when they were forced to jump from a top floor of an apartment building fire. At least three others had to jump as well. They remain in critical condition. The second fire occured in Brooklyn, NY. Members of Engine 290 and Ladder 103 were transported from this fire to a Hyperbaric Chamber at a local Trauma Center. One firefighter succombed due to his injuries. The Members of The Huntingtown Volunteer Fire Department offer our deepest sympathies to the friends and family of the three members killed in the line of duty and our thoughts and prayers to those members remaining in critical condition.
