This past Saturday May 31, around 1300 hours, a strong storm passed through Calvert County (particularly in Dunkirk, Huntingtown, Chesapeake Beach, and North Beach). The storm was short but dumped a large amount of rain with wind gusts of 60 mph. The Huntingtown Volunteers answered approximately 15 calls in a one-hour time span including several trees down and trees through houses. Many of these calls for service were as a result of the strongest hit area, Apple Greene, in Dunkirk.
