Truly Sad day for Huntingtown Volunteers: Passing of Past Chief/President/Charter Member

It brings great grief and sorrow to announce the passing of member William Schrom III. Mr. Schrom is a Past Chief & President of the Huntingtown Volunteer Fire Department & Rescue Squad, Inc. He is the only member ever elected to hold the rank of both Chief & President. In addition, to being a charter member since the beginning of our organization in 1972, he has played an instrumental part in the foundation, development, and future of our great department.

Unfortunately, at 0820 hours this morning, Chief/President Schrom passed away at the Washington Hospital Center in Washington DC. His accomplishments and work in our department and county are phenomenal. The Officers of the Department are diligently working with the family and as arrangements are made, they will be passed on.

In the past couple of hours, the phone calls offering help from our outlying departments from the state of Maryland has been a tremendous help.
