Shortly after 1000 hours this morning, Sunday February 24, 2008, the Huntingtown Volunteers were dispatched for an unusual call, a subject stuck in their attic. Chief 6 (Riffe), Chief 6A (Spriggs), Chief 6B (Montgomery), Chief 6C (Hayes), Squad 6 (Cox, C), Engine 62 (Cox, D), and Ambulance 69 (Stewart) arrived to find exactly that. Apparently the patient, was in the attic repairing an appliance, fell off the wooden platform, and became wedged between the rafters. The members quickly devised a clever plan. With the use of some pike poles and lots of muscle, the men were able to push/pull the victim out of his hiding spot. With only some minor cuts and bruising, the patient thanked us for our services and refused transport. The Squad crew filled the newly created hole with some plastic before returning to service. All Huntingtown units were back in quarters at 1040 hours.
