35th Anniversary Banquet & Installation of Officers

During the evening hours of Saturday February 9th, over 300 people packed the Banquet Hall at the Huntingtown VFD for the 35th Annual Banquet/Installation of Officers. Members and Past Chief's traveled from South Carolina, West Virginia, and even Idaho to ensure they wouldn't miss this event. Several members were recognized throughout the evening for their service to the department. The Master of Ceremonies was ABC 7 Doug Hill, benediction led by Reverend Robert Hahn. Food was provided by Thompson's Seafood Catering. Music and Entertainment by Deputy Keith Hicks, Slideshow presentation was courtesy of members, Chris Buffalini, Larry Kerns, and Josh Miller. Bagpipes courtesy of Mr. Jerry Morrisey. The administrative awards were led by President Gene Farrell. The operational awards were led by the 4 Chief's.

One lifesaving award was issued out to 7 members. Firefighter of the Year & Edward Morrison Award was presented to Clinton Cox, Jr; EMT of the Year was presented to Sierra Stewart. Rookie Firefighter of the Year was presented to Josh Miller, Rookie EMT of the Year was presented to Ty Lester. Chiefs Awards was presented to Larry Kerns. Officer of the Year was presented to Jonathan Riffe and Larry Kerns. A special Chief's Appreciation Award was handed out to Dennis Hook. In addition, over 40 members, received year of service pins to add to their Class "A" Uniform. Also, D/C Montgomery received the "Service Call of the Year" award for his actions in evicting several "little people" from an attic. Captain Larry Patin received a plaque for his 23 consecutive years as an operational officer of Huntingtown VFD. Many thanks to the Ladies Auxiliary for their donation to the membership.
