After 2 days of very little sleep with 2 previous fires and several other calls, on Wednesday January 23, 2008 at 1328 hours, Chief 6 (Riffe), Chief 6B (Montgomery), Engine 61 (Sgt Morris), Squad 6 (Lt Kerns), and Tanker 6 (Capt Mckenny) were alerted for the house fire in the area of 6342 Bayside Road (104 Box). Company 1 units arrived to find fire showing from a one-story wood-frame abandoned house. The crews from Engine 61 and Squad 6 assisted units with extinguishing the fire which spread under the house, to the front porch, living room, and cockloft. The Box assignment was held within minutes to Company 1, Company 6, and Tanker 5. At 1425 hours, remaining units returned to service.
