New Year's Eve, 2007, at 1900 hours, the Huntingtown Volunteers and surrounding department's were alerted for the chimney fire on Hardesty Road (617 Box). Prince Frederick Chief 2A (D'Agostino), who was in the area arrived to find a working chimney fire. Next arriving, Engine 61 (Nasti) and Squad 6 (Sgt Kerns) arrived on location. Engine 61 advanced an attack line while Squad 6 checked for extension due to moderate smoke conditions found in the attic. Tower 1 threw ladders to the roof and were assigned to the Roof Division. Engine 12 pulled a back-up line and Engine 52 assisted with cleaning out the firebox. After checking the surrounding areas with the TIC, and all checks for extension proved negative the Box was scaled back to Company 6 units and Tower 1.
