Tuesday November 20, 2007 at 0917 hours, the Huntingtown Volunteers were alerted for the "auto accident, vehicle into the barn" in the area of Ponds Wood Road and Hardesty Road. Chief 6 (Riffe), Chief 6A (Spriggs), Engine 62 (Lt Thrasher), and Ambulance 69 (Muholland) arrived to find the same.

Apparently, the driver was traveling on Ponds Wood Road, veered off the roadway, clipping a telephone pole, running over several trees, "jumped" a driveway, landed, running over more trees. The vehicle continued accelerating, crossing back over Ponds Wood Road, "clipping" a second telephone pole, ran off the other side of the roadway, doing a complete "lap" around the barn. The truck then continued on, and did a second "lap" around the barn, before finally crashing into Side "B" of the barn. Several pieces of lumber from the barn, drove through the windshield, as well as a bouncing chainsaw in the driver compartment. Fortunately, the vehicle never overturned, and the driver was self-extricated.

A helicopter was requested due to the impact with the barn and the patient never remembering a single thing that occured. However, due to fog, all helicopters were grounded. The patient was transported by Ambulance 69 to Calvert Memorial Hospital.
