| On Friday July 6, 2007 at 1515 hours, Ambulance 68 (Borden) was alerted to Prince Frederick for the medical local. While en route back to quarters, Chief 6C (Hayes), Engine 61 (S/O Collins), Squad 6 (Lt Randleman), and Ambulance 68 were alerted to 420 West Dares Beach Road for the building fire. Units arrived to find moderate smoke conditions through the building. As crews were investigating the fire, Company 6 units were assigned to assist several elderly occupants. On the 2nd floor, several occupants were found and sheltered in place. The crew from Squad 6 also found a stuck elevator with one subject trapped. The person was quickly removed unharmed. Company 6 units also found a person on the 4th floor in need of removal which was also quickly handled. A small fire was found in the elevator room which was quickly extinguished. Company 6 units remained on the scene until 1612 hours. Picture courtesy of Company 2. On a side-note, the Hybrid TV crew was in quarters and got some excellent footage of everybody in action and the removal of the elderly victims. |
