| On Saturday June 30, 2007 at 2309 hours, the Huntingtown Volunteers were alerted for the serious auto accident at Walnut Creek Road and Shelley's Crossing (a residential neighborhood). Squad 2 (Prince Frederick) and Squad 5 (Dunkirk) were also automatically dispatched. In addition, Ambulance 48 (Prince Frederick) and Solomons Ambulance 38 (clearing the hospital) also were on the call. Two minutes later, Chief 6C (Hayes), Engine 62 (Nasti), Engine 61 (Wells), Ambulance 68 (Gadway), and Ambulance 69 (Flynt) arrived to find a single-vehicle off the roadway (rolled prior to stopping) with a teenage passenger ejected. The driver was out of the vehicle, and a 3rd passenger was missing. Chief 6C established the Command as units went to work. Unfortunately, due to injuries incompatible with life, the ejected passenger was prounounced on scene. An intensive search was began by all crews on hand for the 3rd passenger who was eventually found uninjured. The driver of the vehicle was also uninjured. Units remained on the scene until after 0200 hours. **Due to respect of the families involved, additional details are not being released along with any pictures.** |
