| On Friday June 29, 2007 at approximately 2130 hours, the Huntingtown Volunteers were alerted to Plum Point Road and Lady Anne's Way for the auto accident. Chief 6 (Riffe), Chief 6B (Montgomery), Engine 62 (Borden), Engine 61 (S/O Bowen), Ambulance 68 (Dickerson) arrived to find a pick-up truck that struck a telephone pole head-on at a high rate of speed. The patient still inside of the vehicle was suffering from severe head trauma along with internal injuries to his chest. The crew from Engine 62 went to work extricating the patient while the EMS crew began treatment. The patient was flown to PG Shock Trauma by Trooper 2. Engine 61 handled the Landing Zone. Command (Chief 6) was terminated 30 minutes later. Approximately 90 minutes later, the Huntingtown Volunteers were alerted for the first-due accident with a report of a vehicle through a house. Due to Squad 6 still being place out of service, Rescue 1 (North Beach) and Squad 2 (Prince Frederick) were also automatically dispatched to the run. Chief 6 (Riffe), Chief 6B (Montgomery), Engine 62 (Nasti), and Ambulance 68 (Gadway) arrived to find a car with three patients that struck a fence and concrete well cap. All patients were uninjured and all units returned to service within 30 minutes. |
