With several dozen members in Ocean City for the annual MSFA convention, several dozen remained back to ensure all apparatus was staffed. On Saturday June 16, 2007, the Huntingtown Volunteers were enjoying a catered dinner at the station courtesy of Adam's Ribs. At 1842 hours, Company 6, Ambulance 1 (North Beach), and the Medic Unit were alerted to Plum Point and Bayside Road for the auto accident involving a motorcycle. Chief 6C (Hayes), Engine 62 (Hildwine), Engine 61 (S/O Collins), Ambulance 68 (Smith), and Ambulance 69 (Dickerson) immediately hit the street with 18 Volunteers. Huntingtown units arrived to find a motorcycle that struck a pick-up truck head-on. Huntingtown EMS crews immediately went to work tending to the motorcycle operator that was suffering from severe traumatic injuries. The patient was flown priority one to PG Shock Trauma but unfortunately was pronounced upon arrival to the hospital. The 2nd patient was ground-transported to CMH. Chief 6C handled command and all units returned to service at 1927 hours.
