On Monday December 6, 2004 shortly after 0600 hours, several companies in the state of Maryland and Virigina were alerted to fill-in in Charles County, MD due to a multiple-alarm fire in Company 7's first due (Potomac Heights). Units were dispatched for an undetermined fire and arrived to find four houses involved with fire. The fires quickly spread and were ignited in several houses. A total of 41 houses were involved; 12 destroyed; 29 damaged. Because of the mass amount of apparatus, Engine 62 (F/F Hengstenberg) was alerted to fill-in at Company 8 (Marbury).

The crew from E-62 stood-by until 1235 that afternoon. Unfortunately, no calls were ran but the crew from Engine 62 would like to heartily thank the volunteers of Marbury for their hospitality. Marbury VFD donated money to the crew for meals while they were there. Also, many thanks to F/F Tomlinson from Company 8 for riding the officer seat since we were unfamiliar with the area.
