On Tuesday May 8, 2007 at 1434 hours, Company 2 (Prince Frederick), Ambulance 4 (Rescue Squad), Company 6 (Huntingtown), and the Medic Unit were alerted for the serious auto accident involving a motorcycle at Wilson and Garrett Rd. This brought Chief 6 (Riffe), Squad 6 (Lt Randleman), and Ambulance 68 (Hayward) to the call. Chief 2 (Scott) arrived to find a head-on collision with a vehicle vs. motorcycle. The driver of the car was uninjured. However, the motorcycle driver was ejected. He was found pulseless and not breathing with severe trauma to his entire body. Chief 2 established the Command and requested the helicopter. Squad 6 was re-routed to handle the Landing Zone but was then requested to continue to the scene. The crew from Squad 6 secured the vehicle and assisted Company 4 units with loading the motorcycle operator (CPR in progress). Ambulance 68 handled the refusal for the driver of the vehicle. Company 6 units returned to service at 1502 hours. Squad 2 handled the Landing Zone.
