| Tuesday May 1, 2007 at 1654 hours, Company 6 and surrounding units were dispatched to 6140 Alpine Court for the microwave fire. Units from Huntingtown alerted were: Engine 61 (Chief Riffe), Squad 6 (Lt Thrasher), and Tanker 6 (S/O Bowen). Due to Engine 61 delayed in arriving due to a minor mechanical problem, both Engine 61 and Engine 51 arrived simultaneously at the driveway. Engine 51 laid out halfway into the driveway with Engine 61 finishing the forward lay. The 200' attack line was advanced to the front with a light haze showing on the 1st floor. Further investigation revealed a small fire in the microwave that the homeowner extinguished prior to our arrival with a garden hose. The assignment was quickly held with Engine 61, Squad 6, and Engine 51. Squad 6's crew checked the cabinets for extension with the Thermal Imager. Within 15 minutes, Command was terminated and all units returned to service. |
