From April 15-18, two Huntingtown VFD Instructors were invited to train MAYDAY at the annual Fire Department Instructor's Conference (FDIC) held in Indianapolis, Indiana. This is the first year ever that Mayday training has been a course at FDIC. A total of 61 students from around the country were taught the Mayday course so they could take it back to their station and fellow members.

Since the inception of MAYDAY, the members of Huntingtown VFD have been trained in it. Last year, the department made it mandatory that every member complete the MAYDAY course. Failure to do so would result in loss of riding privileges. 100% of our members complied and completed the intensive course. We were the 1st volunteer fire department in the country to achieve this!! The beginning of April we once again began the mandatory MAYDAY training for 2007. Over the half of the department has re-certified. The next 2 Thursday's will continue the training. And still to this day, we are the ONLY Volunteer fire department in the country to make this mandatory training for all members.....................

**Any member that will be unable to make one of the Thursday MAYDAY drills, needs to contact the Fire Captain for an alternate time and date.**
