| On Saturday February 24, 2007, the Huntingtown Volunteers were alerted for the small grass fire at the Plum Point Road baseball field. Chief 6 (Riffe), Safety Officer 6 (Bowen), Brush 6 (Morgan), Tanker 6 (Cooper), and Jeep 6 (Hildwine) arrived to find a lawnmower well-involved with fire as well as the entire baseball field. Units made quick work of the fire and returned to service within 30 minutes. Apparently, the field tendant was cutting grass in February (??) and due to hot leaking oil, dry grass, and high winds, the fire quickly spread. |
