On August 21, 2006 at approximately 1750 hours, Company 15 (Navy Base) and Company 1 (North Beach) were alerted for the auto accident at Route 261 and Beach Drive. Seconds later, Engine 151 (Capt D'Intino) arrived on location reporting a serious accident with one patient trapped. Due to this information, Huntingtown's Heavy Duty Squad 6 (Sgt Nasti) and Huntingtown's/CALS Medic Unit (Borden) were added to the call. The 6-man Squad crew arrived on location and found Engine 151 and Rescue 1 already going to work on extricating the severely trapped patient. The crew from Squad 6 split into two teams. The 1st team utilized our own "O" Cutters in removing the passenger side door. The 2nd team utilized the HURST Rams to roll the dash to free the patient's legs and feet. After a prolonged extrication (approx 35 minutes), the crews were able to free the patient. He was airlifted to a local Trauma center priority one. Excellent job to all crews!

While our crew above was at "work", the 2nd crew at the station (Engine 62; Chief 6A), was dispatched for an AFA which turned out to be a good intent call.
