On Friday August 4, 2006 at 1913 hours, Engine 61 (Lt Thrasher) and Squad 6 (Sgt Nasti) with 8 Volunteers were alerted to 4005 Cassell Blvd (2nd due) for the house fire. While in route, Communications advised they were receiving multiple calls of it being a working fire. Chief 2C (Scott) arrived and found the same with a report of heavy fire through the roof and rear of the house. The crew from Engine 61 arrived, picking up Engine 22's line, and made their way to the interior of the house checking for extension and assisting with extinguishment. The crew from Squad 6 arrived, performed searches (negative) and assisted Tower 2 with special service tasks. The fire was quickly knocked down, and Command held Company 2 and Company 6 units for another 90 minutes.
