On Friday June 23, 2006, at approximately 1230 hours, the Huntingtown Volunteers and surrounding companies were alerted to Harvest Lane for the house fire. Communications advised that a child had called 911 from a neighbor's house advising of the house fire and all occupants were out. Chief 6 (Osbourn), Chief 6A (Riffe), Engine 61 (Sgt Nasti), Engine 62 (Bowman), Squad 6 (Lt Thrasher), Tanker 6 (Collins), and Ambulance 68 (Muholland) arrived to find light smoke showing from a wood-frame house. Chief 6 established Command while the crew from Engine 61 quickly placed a line in service where they found the stove on fire in the kitchen. The fire was quickly extinguished and Command held Company 6 and Engine 151 (Navy Base). Squad 6 was utilized to check for extension and ventilation. Units cleared within the hour.
