| On Saturday October 23rd at 0700 hours, Engine 61 (Chief 6B, R. Hayes), Squad 6 (Chief 6A, J. Riffe), Utility 6 (Chief 6C, C. Spriggs) with 11 members attended a one-day lecture/practical exercise in St. Leonard along with several other surrounding stations. The drill was instructed by Traditions Training (led by R. Riley; Chief 33; Kentland). A total of two hours were spent in class which dealt with rapid intervention training and past incidents that have caused the fire service to evolve and change. After lunch, companies moved to a local drill house in Company 7's area where several evolutions were conducted. Class ended at 1830 hours so Company 6 members could return to the station for the first monthly Texas Hold'em Tournament. Thanks to Ricky Riley and his fellow instructors from FDNY and Fairfax County. |
