| On June 1, 2006 at 0813 hours, the Huntingtown Volunteers and Ambulance 5 (Dunkirk) were alerted to Route 4 and Camaleer Pass for the auto accident (no further information). Captain 6 (McKenny) was first to arrive and found a large box truck (moving truck) that had run off the road, shearing a telephone pole before coming to rest. Lying in the median strip were three males, one unconscious. Captain 6 established Command and requested one additional BLS unit (Company 1) and a Medic Unit. Squad 6 (Chief Osbourn), Ambulance 69 (Price), Chief 6C (Spriggs), and Huntingtown Medic 105 (Borden) arrived on location and began patient care. Apparently prior to our arrival, the patients had removed themselves or had been removed from the vehicle. Two helicopters were also requested due to their traumatic injuries. The landing zone was handled by Engine 52. All three patients were packaged, loaded, and flown to PG Shock Trauma. Command was terminated at 0916 hours. Later that evening at 1720 hours, the Huntingtown Volunteers and Ambulance 4 (Rescue Squad) were alerted to 3000 Holland Cliff Road for the ATV Accident. Chief 6 (Osbourn), Squad 6 (Dorsey), and Engine 61 (Morris) arrived to the same (single patient). Due to the patients possible internal injuries and loss of consciousness, the decision was made to fly the patient. Engine 61 handled the Landing Zone and all units cleared at 1800 hours. |
