| On Monday May 22, 2006, shortly after midnight, the Huntingtown Volunteers were alerted for the auto accident at Route 4 and North West Drive. While units were in route, Communications advised that police were on the scene advising that a pedestrian had been struck. Chief 6 (Osbourn), Squad 6 (Sgt Nasti), Engine 62 (Lt Montgomery), and Ambulance 69 (Muholland) arrived to find a pick-up truck that had struck a "local bicycle enthusiast" who is well known by many. Chief 6 established Command as the Squad and EMS crews tended to the bicyclist with several severe injuries. The patient was packaged and flown to PG Shock Trauma. Engine 62 handled the Landing Zone. He is currently recovering and will hopefully be traveling the streets again soon. Command was terminated at approximately 0100 hours. |
