On Monday March 27, 2006 at 0142 hours, Engine 61 and Squad 6 were alerted along with Engine 151 (Navy Base), Company 1 (North Beach), Company 5 (Dunkirk) and Company 2 (Prince Frederick) to 6410 8th Street for the house fire. Engine 151 (Capt D'Intino) arrived on location with a well-involved split-foyer residence. Because of this report, the Working Fire Dispatch was sounded bringing Tanker 6 to the call. Chief 6 (Osbourn), Chief 6A (Riffe), Chief 6B (Hayes), Chief 6C (Spriggs), Engine 61 (Sgt Nasti), Squad 6 (Lt Montgomery), Tanker 6 (Hayward) arrived on location shortly afterwards. A quick attack from Engine 151 quickly brought the fire under control that had consumed the entire exterior of Side "D", the living room, dining area, and attic area. Huntingtown crews assisted units with checking for extension, Salvage/Overhaul, and other tasks. One firefighter was injured on the fireground requiring transport. Because of this, the 4th crew at the station was alerted to respond with Ambulance 69 (Farrell, G). A total of 17 Huntingtown Volunteers responded on this incident and cleared at 0331 hours.
