| On Monday March 7, 2006 at 1447 hours, Company 2 (Prince Frederick) and Huntingtown Engine 62 (Chief 6A; Riffe) were alerted to Calvert Memorial Hospital for the Automatic Fire Alarm. Shortly after dispatch, Communications upgraded the box for smoke in the building adding Chief 6B (Hayes), Squad 6 (Jones, W) and Ambulance 69 (Jones, S) with a total of 12 Huntingtown Volunteers along with additional mutual aid units. Engine 62 arrived on the scene picking up Engine 21's line while the crew from Engine 62 and Engine 21 stretched two lines from the standpipe connection to the 2nd floor where smoke was visible. Chief 2 (Ficke) established Command and assigned Captain 2 (Pesci) to Division 2 and Chief 6A to Operations. A small fire was found in a rear boiler room and was quickly extinguished. The box was quickly downgraded to Company 2 and Company 6 units. After ventilating the 2nd and 3rd floors, units returned to service. Pictures courtesy of Company 2. |
