| On February 12, 2006, at 1431 hours, Company 6 (Huntingtown) was alerted for the local alarm in the area of Route 2 and Kent Road (a familiar location) for the smoke investigation. Immediately following dispatch, Communications upgraded the box for the building fire in the same location bringing Company 6 and additional mutual aid units. Chief 6A (Riffe), Chief 6B (Hayes), Engine 61 (Sgt Nasti), Engine 62 (Capt Patin), Squad 6 (Lt Thrasher), Tanker 6 (Amick), Brush 6 (Safety Officer Bowen), and Ambulance 69 (Gadway, J) arrived on the scene of 7034 Kent Road with 27 of our own Volunteers and found two dilapidated vacant campers fully-involved. Engine 61's crew stretched the 400' attack line to extinguish the fire. However, due to the snow on the ground, the condition of the campers and the amount of fire, it was determined to let the campers burn and not extinguish them. The box was held to Engine 61 and Tanker 6. Remaining units cleared at 1512 hours. Pictures courtesy of Rick Grierson Photography Inc. |
