| On January 30, 2006 at 1723 hours, Company 6 (Huntingtown) was alerted first-due along with several mutual aide companies to 1215 Brown Fox Drive for the kitchen fire. As units were responding, Communications reported that the caller advised that the fire had now been extinguished. As this transmission was being reported, Chief 6 (Osbourn), Chief 6A (Riffe), Engine 61 (Cooper), Engine 62 (Sgt Nasti), Tanker 6 (D'Amico), and Ambulance 69 (Wells) arrived to find a two-story wood-frame residence with nothing evident. Upon entry, heavy smoke was found on both floors with a still active-burning fire on the stove top and countertop area. The fire was quickly extinguished by Engine 61 (and several off-duty POV firefighters). Company 6 units ventilated the house and checked for further extension with the Thermal Imager. The box was quickly downgraded within five minutes to Company 6 units only. At 1747 hours, Command (Chief 6A) was terminated. |
