October 25, 2016

The Huntingtown Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad regrets to announce the passing of charter member and Past President Kenneth Wells.
President Wells was instrumental in the formation of the HVFD & RS in the early 1970's. He took the first EMT class held at Huntingtown and held his certification for an impressive 34 years. He was responsible for running the majority of Huntingown's calls in the 70's and 80's.
President Wells held many offices including Assistant Chief, Captain, Vice President and Chairman of the Board of Directors.
He was inducted into the first class of the Calvert County Fire and Rescue Association Hall of Fame and also inducted into the Southern Maryland Firemen's Association Hall of Fame.
There is no doubt without the leadership and dedication of President Wells the Huntingtown VFD & RS would not be where it is today.
Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.
