| Today, Monday December 15, concluded the Annual Santa Run the department has held for decades. As always, it was a huge success. Santa and the Volunteers of Huntingtown reached approximately 2,000 children this year. Bags with fire prevention material, coloring books, crayons, candy, and fruit were handed out. Many thanks to the dedicated members that took time away from their family & their busy holiday schedules to ensure every piece of apparatus was staffed each night. Extra special thanks to Santa and Mrs. Claus for allowing this special event to occur, as they do every year. The Huntingtown VFD is one of few departments that spends 4 days on the streets, visiting this many children and putting so much effort into bringing Santa into the community. Over the course of 4 days, dozens of Huntingtown neighborhoods and developments are visited, totaling 75+ streets traveled. |
