| 13 minutes before midnight on Wednesday December 10, 2014, units from the North Beach VFD, Dunkirk VFD, Huntingtown VFD, Anne Arundel Deale VFD & Prince Frederick VFD were alerted for a "boat on fire at the dry dock" located at 4055 Gordon Stinnett Avenue, Marina West. Huntingtown VFD Engine 62 (Sgt Miller) responded on the call with 6 firefighters. Members from the North Beach VFD arrived on location and found a boat & trailer in the marina parking lot, fully-involved. In addition, two neighboring boats were being threatened with one beginning to burn. Due to a rapid attack, the fire was quickly brought under control, extinguishing the boat and saving the two exposures. Within minutes, the Box was scaled back to units from the North Beach VFD, Dunkirk VFD Engine 51 & Squad 5 & Huntingtown VFD Engine 62 to assist with overhaul. Engine 62 remained on the scene for 30 minutes before returning to service, while first-in units stoodby awaiting the Fire Investigator. Picture courtesy of Briana Grierson. |
