| What normally lasts for one week across the nation, Fire Prevention "Week" lasted an entire month for the Huntingtown Volunteers. Due to so many scheduled visits, it would have been impossible to attend all the visits in one week. October 5-11, 2014, marked the Annual Fire Prevention Week held across the United States. "Working Some Alarms-Test Yours Every Month" was the theme, which focused on helping us sound the alarm that working smoke alarms save lives. This month, the members of the Huntingtown VFD visited approximately 20 facilities in Huntingtown (schools, daycares, etc) and educated approximately over 1,000 children and adults in fire safety & prevention public education. This was only possible due to several of our department members who were able to assist. The members of the Huntingtown VFD are always willing to visit the community and the citizens we protect.
