Just two days after the High Angle Rescue in Chesapeake Beach, the Huntingtown Volunteers were tasked once again with another technical rescue. Tuesday October 7, 2014 at 0941 hours, while Ambulance 68 was handling one of many medical locals of the day in Prince Frederick, Engine 62 (Paluda) was enroute to a public relations fire prevention event at Sunderland Elementary. At the same time, Ambulance 69 (Grierson, C) was alerted for the knee injury at Dalrymple Road & Hardesty Road. Engine 62 (in the area for the fire prevention event), responded on the call and found the patient at a construction site, injured in a hole, approximately 10' below grade. The OIC notified Communications of the same and requested Dunkirk VFD Squad 5 to the scene. Once on location, Engine 62 & Squad 5 loaded the patient into the stokes basket and hoisted him out of the hole. The patient was transported to Calvert Memorial Hospital and units returned to service at 1044 hours.
