Successful Completion of 2013 Fire Prevention "Week"

What normally lasts for one week across the nation, lasted an entire month for the Huntingtown Volunteers. Due to so many scheduled visits, it would have been impossible to complete in one week. October 6th-12th, marked the Annual Fire Prevention Week held across the United States. "Prevent Kitchen Fires" was the theme, which focused on spreading the word that more fires start in the kitchen than in any other part of the home—and teaching people how to keep cooking fires from starting in the first place.

This month, the members of Huntingtown visited approximately 20 facilities in Huntingtown (schools, daycares, etc) and educated approximately over 1,000 children and adults in fire safety/prevention. This was only possible due to dozens of the members of our department who were able to assist. The members of the Huntingtown VFD are always willing to visit the community and the citizens we protect.
