| Monday August 5, 2013 a good Samaritan traveling on Hunting Creek Road noticed smoke showing from a house. Turning around, she found a flower bed and the side of the house on fire (with an inoperable garden hose). At 1408 hours, units from the Huntingtown VFD and surrounding companies were alerted for the "flower bed on fire next to a house" at 1205 Brown Fox Drive. The Deputy Fire Chief, 6B (Riffe), Safety Officer (McKenny), Engine 61 (Lt Montgomery), Engine 62 (Lester), Squad 6 (Colleli) & Tanker 6 (Thrasher) arrived on location finding the same. With Engine 61 making quick work with the front bumper line, Command (6B), scaled the assignment back to Engine 61 & Squad 6 two minutes after arriving. 25 minutes after dispatch, all units returned to service. |
