Friday June 7, 2013, apparatus from the entire Southern MD region was involved in the funeral procession for active Dunkirk VFD member & past Huntingtown VFD member, Eddie Catterton. Huntingtown VFD Engine 61, Engine 62, Rescue Squad 6, Tanker 6, Command 6 & Brush 6 were in the procession with a Huntingtown EMS crew filling-in at Dunkirk VFD (total of 22 Huntingtown Voluteers).

At 0948 hours, Dunkirk Squad 5, Prince Frederick Squad 2 & EMS units were alerted for the overturned vehicle at 386 Skinners Turn Road. Due to Squad 5 being committed in the procession, Rescue Squad 6 (Smith), already in the area, was added to the assignment. Units arrived on location and found a single-vehicle (truck) on it's side with the lone occupant trapped. The crew immediately went to work, stabilizing & securing the vehicle. Once completed, the crew deployed the pair of HURST "O" Cutters and performed a roof-flap to extricate the driver, which took 6 minutes. Due to quick work, Squad 2 was placed in service prior to arriving. The patient was ground-transported to Calvert Memorial Hospital and Rescue Squad 6 returned to service in 29 minutes.
