7 Injured in South-Side Huntingtown Rush Hour Accident

Thursday April 25, 2013 shortly before 4 pm, the Assistant Chief (Montgomery), Deputy Fire Chief (Riffe), Engine 61 (Lt Montgomery) & Rescue Squad 6 (Lt Ward) were enroute to Prince Frederick for the stove fire. First arriving units arrived on location and within minutes returned companies, finding food on the stove. Communications notified units from the Huntingtown VFD that they were receiving reports of an auto-accident on the south-side of Huntingtown in front of Bayside Chevy. The AFC, DFC, Engine 61 & Squad 6 continued responding as Communications dispatched the run bringing Paramedic Ambulance 68 (Paiva) from quarters.

The Huntingtown Volunteers arrived on location and found a 3-vehicle accident with 7 injured persons. A total of 4 BLS units & 1 ALS unit was dispatched to the scene to transport all injured. Paramedic Ambulance 68 transported 3 patients to Calvert Memorial Hospital. Units from the Huntingtown VFD operated on the call until 1632 hours.
