At 1806 hours, just as crews were backing into quarters from 70 Scarlett Drive, Communications sent Huntingtown units out for a child that had been run over by a lawnmower. Chief 6 (Osbourn), Chief 6B (Hayes), Squad 6 (F/F Dorsey), and Ambulance 69 (EMS LT Nutwell) arrived at 685 Verda Lane to find an 8 year-old with amputated toes, avulsions, and severe lacerations to the right leg. The Medic Unit and Eagle 2 were alerted to the call so the child could be air-transported to a local Trauma Center. Squad 6 assisted Ambulance 69 with patient care and established the Landing Zone. The patient was transported to Children's Hospital and units cleared at 1853 hours.
