First Calvert County Volunteer Trench Rescue Class Held

Calvert County Volunteer Fire-Rescue-EMS has never had a Trench Rescue class held within the county until now. Huntingtown VFD hosted the 1st ever Maryland Fire & Rescue Institute (MFRI) Trench Rescue class led by Instructor John Lyon which started on September 10. A total of 21 students participated in this class. The practical exercises took place at member Ritchie Gibson's farm located at 880 Cox Road in Huntingtown, MD. During the practical exercises, the students performed "victim rescues" from a collapsed trench. Many thanks to all that worked tirelessly to accomplish putting this class together and congratulations to the students with a 100% pass rate!
