| Friday July 6 at 1826 hours, Calvert Control 911 alerted units for the Confined Space Assigment at 11830 Mill Bridge Road, in Lusby (304 box) for a person that had fallen 40' down into a well. This assignment brought Solomons VRSFD first due to the assignment. In addition, Huntingtown VFD Chief 6B (Morris) & Rescue Squad 6 (Capt Clark) were dispatched due to Squad 6 being the confined space resource specialty in the county. A total of 7 Huntingtown Volunteers responded on the run with 5 of them being Confined Space Techs. Rescue Squad 6 arrived at 1854 hours, removed all confined space equipment, set up a Z-rig, donned Class 3 Harnesses, and began setting up for entry. Chief 2A (Sharpe) entered the hole, with Captain 6 (Clark) as the secondary entry. Atmospheric monitoring occurred before, during, and after the incident to ensure good air qualities for the patient, and crews entering. The patient was found to be responsive, and stated to be uninjured. The male subject was effectively removed from the well at 1913 hours, only 19 minutes after Squad 6's arrival. Rescue Squad 6 cleared the incident at 1933 hours after setting up over 400' of rope, a tripod, the confined space fan, lowering devices, and the air cart.
