Thursday June 28, 2012 at 1609 hours, Chief 6A (Montgomery), Chief 6B (Morris), Engine 62 (Capt Clark) & Tanker 6 (Stewart) were alerted to 5021 Timber View Lane in Saint Leonard, MD for the Working House Fire. Prior to the arrival of responding units, a nearby DCFD Lieutenant rescued an adult female from the 2nd floor and two dogs. First arriving personnel reported heavy fire showing from the 2nd floor and through the roof of a two story single family residence. Engine 62 deployed the 400' attack line and worked on the 2nd floor with Tower 2 who opened up allowing Engine Companies to quickly knock down all visibile fire. Units from the Huntingtown VFD operated on the scene for 2 hours.

While units were enroute to the above call and two crews from Huntingtown VFD were operating, Communications advised they were dispatching another house fire in Prince Frederick. Chief 6A and Chief 6B diverted from the above call while 2 additional crews in quarters, Engine 61 (Cox, D) & Squad 6 (Gaylor) were dispatched to Sandy Point Road for the house fire. Units arrived to find a small brush fire which was quickly extinguished.
