One Extricated in Huntingtown

Thursday May 10, 2012 at 1830 hours, The Fire Chief (Riffe), Assistant Chief (Montgomery), Safety 6 (McKenny), Squad 6 (Smith), Engine 62 (Grierson), Ambulance 68 (Luckett) and Ambulance 69 (Osbourn) were alerted for the overturned vehicle at Walton Road and Springbrook Court. The Fire Chief arrived on location as the call was being dispatched and reported a pick-up truck that had rolled down an enbankment with one person pinned. The crew from Squad 6 and Engine 62 arrived on location, stabilized and secured the vehicle prior to freeing open the door with the HURST 32" Spreaders. Out of the 4 patients, a total of 3 were transported to Calvert Memorial Hospital by Ambulance 69 and Prince Frederick VRS Ambulance 49. Units picked up and returned to service within 20 minutes.
