Tuesday January 24, 2012 at 2328 hours, Chief 6A (Montgomery), Chief 6B (Morris), Lieutenant 6 (Clark), Engine 61 (Sgt Montgomery), Squad 6 (Captain Nasti) and Ambulance 68 (Bevard) were alerted for the House Fire at 56 Terrace Drive (212 Box). While units were en route to the call, Communications advised that they received additional information advising there was heavy fire showing from the rear of the residence. This alerted the Working Fire Dispatch bringing a 4th crew from quarters, Engine 62 (Safety Officer McKenny) to the scene.

Shortly after the Working Fire Dispatch, 1st Due Engine 22 advised they were unable to make it to the scene due to mechanical issues, thus making Engine 61 1st due to the assignment. Units arrived on the scene of a two-story split foyer wood-frame home with heavy fire showing from the basement with extension on the 1st floor. The crew from Engine 61 advanced a line to the rear of the residence making entry into the basement. The crew from Squad 6 performed several tasks, searching the residence and opening up for the attack crews. Engine 62 arrived on location and assumed RIT responsibilities. Due to the amount of fire, the stairs burnt through and also several weak spots were found throughout the 1st floor. The 17 Huntingtown Volunteers remained on scene until 0202 hours.
