| Monday January 2, 2012 at 1931 hours, Chief 6 (Riffe) and Tanker 6 (Wallace) were alerted for the house fire at 5673 Southern Maryland Boulevard in Anne Arundel County. First arriving units from Upper Marlboro FD and Harwood-Lothian FD found a single-story brick rambler fully-involved with fire. Due to the amount of fire and stability of the structure, crews extinguished the fire through exterior defensive operations. Tanker 6 operated on the fire ground until 2323 hours and shuttled 21,000 gallons (7 loads). Seconds after the above call was dispatched, units on the South End of the County as well as St Mary's County Units were dispatched to Lusby for the "Working House Fire." Units arrived on location and found the same. At 1931 hours, Engine 61 (Sgt Montgomery Jr) transferred to Solomons VRSFD and remained there until 2348 hours. With Tanker 6 and Engine 61 committed on both incidents for over 3 hours, an additional Engine/Squad crew and Ambulance crew remained in quarters to protect the citizens of Huntingtown and Calvert County. |
