It is with the deepest and most heartfelt regrets that the officers and members of the Kentland Volunteer Fire Department announce the untimely passing of Lt. Pete Lund (FDNY, Ret.). Lt. Lund passed away on Tuesday, June 14, shortly before midnight after becoming suddenly ill while operating at the scene of a house fire in Woodmere, New York. Lt. Pete Lund joined the FDNY in 1973 and retired from Rescue Co. 2 in 2003. He was also a lifelong member of the Woodmere Volunteer Fire Department in his hometown on Long Island, as well as an active member of the Kentland Volunteer Fire Department. He is survived by his wife, Andrea; Daughter, Valerie; and son, Matthew, who is also an active member at Kentland. Lt.
