| Yesterday, Saturday September 24, 2011, Dunkirk VFD member, Amanda Mitchler tragically passed away at Calvert Memorial Hospital. Amanda, who was pregnant, was rushed to Calvert Memorial Hospital, due to complications with her pregnancy. Shortly after giving birth to her son Gavin, something unexpected happened which caused Amanda to go into cardiac arrest. Doctors left her on life support for several hours to allow family to come into town to visit her one last time. Late yesterday morning, after family arrived, Amanda was taken from us all and sent to heaven. Amanda was a friend to many and we are all still in shock and disbelief that this even occurred. As arrangements are made, they will be posted. God bless.
