Once again, yesterday evening at the anticipation of high tide the Huntingtown Volunteers traveled to our local community of Needle Estates. Beginning at 1800 hours, Chief 6 (Riffe), Squad 6 (Capt Collins), Ambulance 68 (Jordan), and Car 6 (Nicholson) assisted the residents with the filling of several thousand sand bags. A Command post was established along the bay, the light tower from Squad 6 was raised to aid with lighting and an EMS rehab post was established. Shortly after arriving, the Huntingtown Volunteers contacted the Huntingtown Dominoes Pizza and were able to have 10 FREE pizzas donated to the residents. The Huntingtown Volunteers assisted the citizens until 2330 hours. In addition Channel 4, Channel 5, Channel 7 and Channel 9 news were on the scene as well as County Commissioner Wilson Parran. One citizen was treated on the scene for an allergic reaction.
