1802 hours on Sunday October 19, 2008, Chief 6 (Riffe), Chief 6B (Montgomery), Squad 6 (Sgt Morris), and Ambulance 69 (Robison) were alerted for the overturned vehicle with people trapped at Ponds Wood Road and Bayside Road. Additional units included on dispatch included North Beach Rescue 1 and Ambulance 18. Units arrived to find a two vehicle "T-bone" collision with one patient trapped. The crew from Squad 6 immediately went to work cribbing the vehicle and removing the driver with the HURST Maverick and "O" Cutter. Rescue 1 stood-by with a handline for precautionary reasons before being released to the Landing Zone. A total of 5 patients required transport, bringing two more Ambulances to the scene including Ambulance 19 and Prince Frederick VRS Ambulance 47. One patient was flown to PG Shock Trauma and 4 patients were ground transported to Calvert Memorial Hospital.
